Personalised Learning

Personalised Learning

Student learning at Lakeside Secondary College involves tailoring an education for each individual child. This begins with a plan for learning. Each student works with their Home Group teacher to develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that will guide their learning and assist teachers to plan for their individual needs. Students learn to develop responsibility for their learning by identify their learning style, setting learning goals and developing critical thinking skills. In Years 10-12 , with the help of their MIPS Tutor, students build on their ILP to develop a Managed Individual Pathway Plan which provides a direction for future study or work.

Personlised use of ICT

Personalised Learning is achieved when students are able to use ICT to gather, process and create new ideas in an individualised way. Lakeside provides students’ with access to class sets of laptops, interactive whiteboards, multi-media and numerous digital learning tools. Students and parents aer able to access detailed information about learning progress and content through the College Learning Portal, Scholaris. Existing members of the College community can access Scholaris through this link.
